ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Role and Workflow Analyst I

Salary: $67,291.74 - $97,620.22 annually

An ERP Role and Workflow Analyst I is responsible for administering and maintaining system and business role‑based permissions along with associated workflows for the City’s ERP solution. Duties include adding, changing and deleting user access to the ERP systems; adding, changing or deleting workflow assignments; maintaining confidentiality requirements; identifying and resolving security and workflow issues; and assisting the user community with troubleshooting and resolution.

The analyst supports the user community and works closely with the City’s Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) ERP technical team, coordinating with ERP staff for testing of security and workflow modifications, updating system documentation, and performing related duties as required. The position is broadly supervised, typically with guidance from an Analyst II or supervisor.

ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Role and Workflow Analyst II

Salary: $77,917.84 - $ annually

An ERP Role and Workflow Analyst II is responsible for designing, defining, implementing, managing, and maintaining role‑based permissions and associated workflows for the City’s financial, payroll, timekeeping, human resources, performance budgeting, and procurement ERP system. The analyst understands business processes, creates logical job‑based roles, maps roles to system functions and workflows, and performs daily system security, user administration and workflow administration tasks.

  • Collecting and/or analyzing information to develop job‑based roles.
  • Creating and defining automated ERP rules‑based workflows, based on job roles, business rules, policies, and approvals, providing an audit trail.
  • Adding, changing, and deleting user access to the ERP system based on the process workflows.
  • Facilitating development and implementation of workflow strategies aligned with the City Edge Steering Team’s broader strategies for ERP system access.
  • Adding, changing, or deleting workflow processes and rules in the ERP system, with appropriate approvals.
  • Assisting departments in planning, procedures, and strategies for system access across multiple functions (accounting, payroll, HR, timekeeping, budget, procurement).
  • Identifying and resolving workflow issues.
  • Working closely with the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) technical and project staff and ERP vendors.
  • Testing, scheduling, communicating, and coordinating ERP workflow system changes with DoIT via change management to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Developing exception processes for determining system roles, access, and workflows where users do not fit defined job roles.
  • Preparing or updating system documentation, including operating procedures and documentation for system access and workflow decisions.
Minimum Qualifications Required – Analyst I
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field; OR any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in a related field and 1–3 years of computer systems experience providing technical support to customers for an enterprise application with responsibility for user administration, workflow management, and/or security role administration or as a super user;

    OR 3–5 years of similar experience.
Preferred/Desirable Qualifications – Analyst I
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • 1–3 years of computer systems experience supporting or using the following systems or applications: financial management, payroll, time and attendance, procurement, or human resources.
  • Experience with reporting tools and methods to support auditing, analysis, and reporting; troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and solution suggestion; development and delivery of end user training; communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and SQL tools for data queries (including advanced SELECT statements).
