MD Helicopters is looking for an experienced and driven Buyer II to join our Purchasing team and play a key role in supporting our production, spares, repair/overhaul, and special projects. What You’ll Do- Manage procurement of raw materials, components, assemblies, supplies, and services
- Execute purchase orders and coordinate pricing, proposals, and supplier negotiations
- Issue RFQs/RFPs and evaluate proposals to support competitive sourcing
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve discrepancies, and drive cost-reduction activities
- Analyze MRP requirements, lead times, and inventory levels for purchasing decisions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Support process improvements, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and compliance
- Expedite materials and communicate procurement status – 15%
- Travel:
Less than 5%
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2–4 years of related purchasing or supply chain experience
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred)
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand engineering processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Proven success improving supplier delivery, quality, and cost
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work across cultures in a global environment
- Eligibility to access Export Control Information
- Degrees in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Industrial Tech/Management, Finance, or Accounting
- Aerospace, military, or OEM procurement experience
- Professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, CSM)
This role operates in both office and factory settings with occasional exposure to shop conditions (noise, dust, fumes). Some physical activity, such as lifting up to 20 lbs., may be required.
