Essential Functions
- Develop, implement, and continuously oversee an enterprise‑wide Compliance Program aligned with corporate objectives, including governance structures, compliance committees, and uniform enforcement of standards across the organization.
- Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and industry standards; oversee regulatory submissions, licensing, inspections, record retention, and reporting; and maintain effective working relationships with regulators, auditors, and enforcement agencies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Code of Conduct and compliance‑related policies, procedures, and internal controls in collaboration with operational leaders to prevent, detect, and address noncompliance or improper conduct—including requirements imposed by Federal and State regulatory agencies such as the DEA, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and applicable State licensing boards, State Insurance Departments, and the Office of Civil Rights.
- Conduct enterprise‑wide compliance risk assessments; establish and oversee monitoring, auditing, and testing activities; evaluate Compliance Program effectiveness; and implement improvements based on identified risks and regulatory changes.
- Assist other stakeholders with the selection, implementation, and maintenance of a GRC solution for the enterprise to align business goals with managing risks and meeting regulatory requirements, and to unify decision‑making, controls, and policies for efficiency, integrity and performance.
- Periodically report on compliance‑related activities to Excom and the Audit, Quality, and Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors, including an annual report on the effectiveness and other operational aspects of the Compliance Program.
- Develop and deliver compliance training and education programs; establish effective communication channels, including a compliance hotline and non‑retaliation reporting mechanisms; and promote engagement and a strong culture of compliance across the organization.
- In coordination with Legal and RCM, investigate compliance concerns; ensure appropriate reporting of violations to regulatory agencies; and develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans to mitigate risk and prevent recurrence.
- Provide centralized compliance expertise and operational support, including regulatory updates, policy management, and coordination with HR and other departments to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to maintain an effective system to ensure that none of Dragonfly Health’s employees or independent contractors appears on any federal or state exclusion lists.
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
- This position has supervisory responsibilities to include hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and managing the performance of department team members.
Education, Licensure or Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Law, Business, or a related field required
- Advanced degree (Pharm
D, JD, or MBA) preferred
- The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ healthcare experience and 5+ years’ managerial experience, including project management. Five years in corporate compliance; at least two years of which must be at a management level.
- Leadership presence and demeanor, ability to influence others, and establish and maintain position of respect.
- In‑depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., DEA, FDA, state licensing boards, HIPAA)
- Strong understanding of operations, management, healthcare delivery and insurance
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross‑functional initiatives
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Current knowledge of federal and state healthcare and privacy laws and regulations and industry best practices.
