Position Overview

We are looking for a Production Shift Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations on the production floor and manage a production crew at our Spoke NA1 metals recycling plant located in Mesa, Arizona. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position will supervise the daily and hour by hour activities of the production crew, coordinating with all departments of the plant (maintenance, receiving, inventory management, Safety, HR, as required) to drive the team to achieve targets as laid out in the production and maintenance for the facility.

The ideal candidate will foster and develop a work environment that promotes trust, teamwork, performance, quality, and safety and will have experience hiring, developing and leading operational staff. This is a night shift role from 9:00 pm to 6:30 am.

Responsibilities

Preproduction activities include:

* Assist in writing SOPs

* Training of operators on SOP's

* Instruct and manage production operators in pre-production activities

* Assist in creation of line-up meeting boards and shift hand-over process

* Collaborate with logistics to finalize operating consumables storage locations

* May assist in installation of equipment

* Complete pre-production training

Postproduction activities include:

* Promotes and enforces the H&S of all employees and ensures the workers understand the hazards of all tasks to be undertaken and adhere to the controls required to protect the health and safety of the worker.

* Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly site inspections to ensure housekeeping and safety standards are always maintained.

* Manages hour-by-hour recycling activities of the production shift to ensure that production plans are executed to meet targets.

* Supports and promotes alignment with operations, corporate business strategy, and goals while promoting great places to work initiatives.

* Organizes the production crew and manages daily operator schedules to ensure they are balanced with the production demands.

* Lead shift line-up meeting to ensure all job assignments and daily communications are understood
