What You'll Do- Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
- Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting improvements in work methods and procedures
- Perform daily housekeeping duties including keeping the immediate work area clean
- Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and communication with others
- Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
- Work with liquid process personnel in the operation, monitoring, and performance of casting equipment
- Take slag samples as required
- Replenish Melt Shop consumables and manage inventory of consumables on the operations floor
- Assist in tapping the heat from the furnace and making alloy additions to de-oxidize the heat
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with exposure to temperature extremes, chemical, dust, fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
- Basic computer skills
- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Ability to learn quickly and multitask
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work overtime as required, including planned schedules and unplanned emergency situations
- Ability to stand for the duration of shift with frequent physical activity
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
