The primary responsibility of the individual will be supplying the consteel furnace with scrap using a cab‑operated overhead crane.

What You'll Do

Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
Select and load scrap in accordance with heat requirements and established charge conveyor loading procedures to meet furnace requirements and prevent conveyor damage
Have a basic understanding of crane hand signals and communications
Communicate effectively with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
Suggest continuous improvement ideas for work methods and procedures
Perform daily housekeeping duties in the immediate work area
Troubleshoot work‑related problems using job knowledge and experience, and by communicating with others
Understand start‑up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
Remain alert to unsafe conditions and report them immediately
Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

Team‑player skills in a fast‑paced environment with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Tolerance for extremes in temperature, chemicals, dust, fumes, mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
Basic computer skills
Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Quick learning and multitasking ability
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Some overtime and the willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods of time

Your Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred
