Job Summary

The Lead Print Production Specialist operates, maintains, and supports a variety of high volume digital, wide format, and specialty printing equipment within the district print production environment. This position is responsible for producing high quality printed materials while ensuring operational efficiency, color accuracy, workflow consistency, equipment reliability, and adherence to district production standards. The Print Production Specialist supports continuous improvement efforts, collaborates with internal stakeholders, and contributes to the delivery of responsive and efficient print services in support of district operations and school needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high volume digital print, wide format, textile, finishing, and specialty print production equipment to produce high‑quality printed materials.
  • Collaborate with the Printing Shop Supervisor to prioritize and complete production tasks in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
  • Monitor print quality, color consistency, alignment, and finishing standards to ensure production output meets district expectations and customer specifications.
  • Perform routine equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning to support operational reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with technical support and maintenance vendors to ensure production equipment is properly serviced and functioning as designed.
  • Maintain knowledge of print production workflows, equipment capabilities, software applications, and production techniques to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Support inventory management efforts by monitoring supply usage levels and coordinating with supervisors to maintain appropriate inventory and material availability.
  • Assist with workflow organization, scheduling, and production planning to support efficient print shop operations during high‑volume periods.
  • Ensure compliance with district safety procedures, operational standards, and applicable federal and state regulations related to print production operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, production quality, equipment utilization, and operational processes.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical production files, records, and documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with district staff and departments to provide responsive customer service and support for print production requests.
  • Assist with additional print shop duties, special projects, and operational assignments as directed by administration or supervisory staff.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible digital print production experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of print production processes, equipment operation, finishing systems, and workflow management.
  • Experience operating high volume digital and wide format production equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of production equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in graphic communications, print technology, visual communications, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in commercial print production, educational print environments, or centralized production facilities preferred.
  • Experience with color management systems, workflow automation, and digital production software preferred.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
