CNC Machinist III
Location: Mesa, AZ
Shift: 3:00 PM-11:30 PM
Salary: $31-$34 per hour
The CNC Machinist III is an experienced manufacturing professional responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. This role requires advanced knowledge of blueprint interpretation, tooling, and machining processes, as well as the ability to troubleshoot, optimize production, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure efficient and accurate job completion.
Responsibilities- Accurately log labor time and production data within the ERP system.
- Interpret work orders, flow sheets, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and production sequence.
- Set up machines by loading and verifying tooling, fixtures, and materials in accordance with job specifications.
- Retrieve and confirm correct materials from staging areas per work order documentation (WOPAC).
- Upload, download, and manage CNC programs in coordination with programmers.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using manual measuring instruments to ensure compliance with blueprint specifications.
- Submit first article and final inspection parts to Quality Assurance for validation of critical dimensions.
- Operate CNC machines to complete full production while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Conduct routine in-process inspections and make necessary adjustments during production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform daily and scheduled preventative maintenance on machines.
- Collaborate with programmers and engineers to resolve issues and improve machining processes.
- Design and fabricate fixtures as needed to support production.
- Modify and optimize CNC programs when required.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of CNC machining operations and programming principles.
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience, including blueprint reading and program editing/writing.
- Proficiency with ERP systems for data entry and job tracking.
- Strong mathematical skills; trigonometry knowledge preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Capability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
