Position Overview
The Production Technical Trainer plays a critical role in onboarding and developing production employees by delivering hands‑on training in manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and quality standards. This position is responsible for monitoring employee progress, ensuring skill competency, and implementing targeted improvement plans when performance gaps are identified—ultimately supporting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm OR 3pm-11pm
- Conduct hands‑on training for new hires and existing employees on production processes, work instructions, and equipment operation
- Ensure employees are properly trained on safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance during and after training to ensure skill proficiency
- Track training progress and maintain accurate training records and documentation
- Assess employee competency through observation, testing, and performance metrics
- Identify skill gaps and performance deficiencies and develop targeted improvement plans
- Provide coaching, feedback, and retraining as needed to ensure employees meet expectations
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to align training with production needs and goals
- Assist in developing, updating, and improving training materials, SOPs, and work instructions
- Support cross‑training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Prior training, coaching, or mentoring experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality standards
- Ability to clearly communicate and demonstrate technical concepts to a diverse workforce
- Strong observation, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Proficient in basic computer systems (Microsoft Office, training databases, etc.)
