Job Title: 2nd Shift Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by safely receiving, inspecting, and moving materials throughout the facility. This position ensures accurate inventory control, timely put-away of materials, and proper documentation in the ERP system while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.

Responsibilities
  • Unload deliveries and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and document findings accurately.
  • Communicate any shortages, damages, or nonconformance issues to Quality and Purchasing teams in a timely manner.
  • Actively enter receiving transactions into the ERP system to ensure real-time inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled and barcoded according to company standards.
  • Support the put-away of materials into correct storage locations to maintain organized inventory.
  • File and maintain accurate records of all incoming shipments for traceability and audit purposes.
  • Ensure receiving paperwork is complete, accurate, and properly routed to the appropriate departments.
  • Communicate regularly with Purchasing, Planning, and Logistics regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
  • Assist in daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Verify that all system transactions match the physical flow of materials on the floor.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies as they arise.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures related to material handling and equipment operation.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock, staging areas, and related work spaces.
  • Train initially on first shift, then work 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.) with flexibility to support mandatory overtime on Fridays as needed to meet production deadlines.
Work Environment

This role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility equipped with Industry 4.0 technology in Mesa, Arizona. The position works on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., with a shift differential and required training on first shift. There is currently mandatory overtime on Fridays to support production deadlines. The work involves frequent standing, walking, lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, as well as occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders.

You will regularly operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment while following strict safety policies and procedures. Personal protective equipment is required and provided, and the role demands good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination. The receiving dock and staging areas are maintained to be clean, organized, and efficient, supporting a safe and productive work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
