What You’ll Do- Lead in building, changing, and maintaining stands, guide boxes, and loopers to ensure proper Rolling Mill settings
- Dismantle roll stands and roller guide boxes to check condition of rollers, bearings, guides, and related components and to determine adjustment, alteration, and replacement of components required
- Assist to ensure mill stands and all other equipment are set up in a way to effectively produce a quality product for our customers and minimize change-over time, size
- Coordinate with Roll Turners and Roll Shop Routine Facilitator to plan what passes and mill stands will be used in the mill at what time
- Clean and inspect mill stands and guides that are returned to the shop from the mill floor
- Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
- Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Work safely at all times by following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements
- Stay alert to unsafe conditions and report them immediately
- Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
- All other duties as assigned
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Some overtime will be required
- High School Diploma or GED required
