Assembler
This hands-on role focuses on assembling electrical control panels, wiring harnesses, and related components used in industrial automation systems. You will work with both electrical and mechanical components, following diagrams and work instructions to build high-quality panels and assemblies. The position is ideal for dependable individuals who have strong attention to detail, enjoy working with tools, and are eager to learn and grow in a technical manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical control panels, wiring harnesses, and related components used in industrial automation systems.
- Build and route wiring harnesses, including cutting, stripping, crimping, labeling, and terminating cables.
- Connect drivers and electrical components inside control panels and related assemblies, without any programming requirements.
- Perform wiring inside control panels, junction boxes, and Dixel panels according to specifications.
- Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed work instructions to complete electrical and mechanical tasks accurately.
- Install and secure mechanical components such as coil pumps, heat trace elements, and enclosures.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly for assembly, mounting, and installation tasks.
- Assist in the layout, mounting, and assembly of panel frames, hardware, and electrical devices.
- Perform self-checks to verify accurate wiring, clean panel layouts, and overall build quality.
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
- Keep the work area organized and follow standard operating procedures for mechanical assembly, panel wiring, and cable management.
- Stand for extended periods and lift components and equipment up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support a reliable, consistent production workflow.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on wiring experience, including harness assembly, terminations, crimping, and routing of cables.
- Ability to read and follow basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions, or a strong willingness to learn.
- Experience working in a control panel shop or similar panel build environment.
- Experience with industrial controls or automation components.
- Basic mechanical or electrical assembly experience in a manufacturing or shop setting.
- Strong manual dexterity and comfort using hand tools and power tools for assembly work.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
- Dependable attendance and clear communication, with a strong commitment to reliability and teamwork.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, well-organized panel layouts.
- Ability to follow safety policies and standard operating procedures consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with heat trace systems and related components.
- Experience working with Dixel systems or similar industrial control panel environments.
- Experience in panel building, including mechanical layout, mounting, and hardware assembly.
- Comfort working in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and technologies related to industrial automation and panel assembly.
- Strong organizational skills for managing cables, components, and tools in a clean work area.
