Assembler
This role focuses on performing complex mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies on a production line, while supporting continuous improvement and quality standards within a modern manufacturing environment. You will work on the first shift in an air-conditioned, state-of-the-art facility, contributing to efficient, safe, and high-quality production.
Responsibilities- Execute complex assembly tasks, including advanced mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies on the production line.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly work according to established procedures.
- Follow detailed prints, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to assemble products to specification.
- Coach and train lower-level assemblers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support on assembly techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Ensure the team adheres to all safety and regulatory compliance standards at all times.
- Continuously review assembly processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other departments to resolve design or manufacturing issues as they arise.
- Perform final quality inspections and testing to confirm that assembled products meet company standards and specifications.
- Maintain inventory of parts and materials required for assembly and ensure stock levels remain at optimal levels.
- Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and provide continuous improvement suggestions to enhance efficiency.
- Work under production deadlines, including occasional mandatory overtime on Fridays, while maintaining high quality standards.
- Comply with all workplace safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform assembly tasks while standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as required by the job.
- Handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving items up to 35 pounds, using proper ergonomic techniques.
- At least 2–5 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing roles, including work on an assembly line.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools in a production or assembly environment.
- Experience following prints, schematics, and build SOPs to complete assembly tasks accurately.
- Strong expertise in reading and interpreting complex technical documents, including engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for resolving assembly and manufacturing issues.
- Ability to train and mentor junior team members and actively contribute to team development.
- Solid knowledge of quality control processes and manufacturing best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
- Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to perform precise assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as required.
