Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • 5 years special event/fundraising experience; preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills.
  • Experience in developing events that are creative and novel.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database, preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with generating a special event fundraising calendar, and maintain and implement, including, known/existing opportunities, prospect and cultivation activities, and reporting requirements.
  • Update and assist in developing fundraising/stewardship correspondence in the agency’s personalized communication style.
  • Prepare agendas and participate in Board of Directors philanthropy committee meetings. Lead event subcommittees.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact records and accurate information on all past and current funding points of contact, including donor acknowledgement with gift detail and tracking progress in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Work with Director of Community & Civic Engagement and Chief Philanthropy Officer to create post
    -event donor retention plan.
  • Execute A New Leaf special events:
    Annual Board, Volunteer, and Donor Recognition Luncheon;
    Camaraderie Gala Fundraiser; WOV Fundraiser; and other events deemed necessary by agency leadership.
    • Research, plan, and secure venues and vendors for all aspects of events; including auctions, AV services, entertainment, emcee, flowers, photographer, and sponsors.
    • Coordinate and work with Chief Philanthropy Officer and members of the Philanthropy Team.
    • Responsible for all paperwork regarding special events to include invitations, awards, donations, event programs, guest lists, seating charts, instructions, contracts, billings, thank-you cards/letters, tax statements, prize lists, sponsorship amounts, auction lists, etc.
    • Utilize graphic design software and create online event pages using Blackbaud event modules.
    • Provide information to Communications staff for social media, press release and other forms of printed pieces and/or advertising tools. Assist Marketing staff in social media strategy.
    • Responsible for event documentation to include sponsorship amounts, sales, donations, thank you emails, hard copy and handwritten notes, and stewardship practices for participant’s support retention.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with clients, A NEW LEAF employee, community members and the public to ensure proper representation of A NEW LEAF.
  • Drive personal vehicle to conduct department business.
  • Work with members of the philanthropy team to secure sponsor ships, auction items, and tickets sales for fundraising events.
