Overview
Jose’s Closet is a nonprofit that serves foster, kinship, and adoptive families by providing clothing, household items, and essential resources—all free of charge. Our donation center is at the heart of this mission, and we rely on dedicated volunteers to help keep everything running smoothly.
Responsibilities- Sorting incoming donations
- Organizing donation storage
- Hanging and maintaining clothing racks
- General organization (hangers, shoes, books, toys)
- Cleaning (bathrooms, trash, mopping/sweeping, wiping doors and carts)
- Food pantry maintenance (stocking, cleaning, and monitoring expiration dates)
For those interested in helping in our pantry, a valid food handler’s card is required.
Volunteer requirements: open to all ages; youth ages 14 and under must volunteer with an adult; seated volunteer opportunities available for those who need accommodation.
Commitment & ScheduleWhether you’re looking to volunteer once, monthly, or a few hours each week, we welcome your support. We typically ask volunteers to serve at least two hours per visit to make the greatest impact.
Volunteer hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with Volunteer Nights from 5:00-7:00 PM on scheduled Tuesdays. We’re also happy to schedule Monday and evening opportunities for larger groups—just let us know what works best for you!
