The Development Manager is the primary fundraising and community engagement professional responsible for growing financial support for Paz de Cristo Community Center through donor relations, corporate partnerships, community outreach, and stewardship activities. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Manager serves as a key ambassador for the organization, building and strengthening relationships with donors, businesses, community partners, and other stakeholders while increasing awareness of Paz de Cristo’s mission, programs, and impact.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Build, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, businesses, and community partners to increase fundraising support for Paz de Cristo.
- Manage an active portfolio of donors and prospects, including identification, cultivation, retention, upgrades, and personalized stewardship activities.
- Develop and implement donor engagement strategies that support individual giving, corporate sponsor ships, employee giving programs, cause-related marketing initiatives, and other fundraising opportunities.
- Conduct presentations, tours, networking meetings, and community outreach activities to increase awareness of Paz de Cristo’s mission, programs, and impact.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Leadership staff and the Board of Directors to execute fundraising campaigns, donor communications, special events, and third-party fundraising efforts.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for Paz de Cristo by actively participating in community events, networking opportunities, and professional associations.
- Support organizational communications by contributing stories, content, and impact information for newsletters, appeals, emails, blogs, social media, and donor materials.
- Maintain accurate donor and constituent records, ensuring timely acknowledgments, stewardship activities, reporting, and data management within the donor database.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Paz de Cristo’s programs, impact and issues facing our clientele, and fundraising best practices to effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact.
- Track activities, outcomes, and fundraising performance metrics and provide regular reports on progress toward goals.
- Other duties as assigned relevant to the work of fundraising and development.
- Proven nonprofit fundraising experience, including donor cultivation, relationship management, donor communications, sponsorship development, and community engagement.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage individuals, businesses, community groups, and diverse audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with a demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships, inspire support, and represent the organization professionally in public settings.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to analyze donor and fundraising data to inform strategy, identify opportunities, and support fundraising goals.
- Experience working effectively with diverse communities, including multiple generations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and ethnic and racial populations.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience using donor database/CRM systems (Bloomerang) and general office technologies.
- Reliable personal transportation, valid Arizona driver's license, current vehicle registration, and automobile insurance.
- Ability to successfully pass state and federal background checks and drug screening.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Preferred experience of 3 – 5 years with non-profit fundraising
- Five years’ experience working for a non-profit organization.
- Experience working in the social services nonprofit sector.
