Description
A Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct care to residents and is a critical part of the healthcare team. Working as part of a team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans to promote optimal health, safety, and well‑being.
Schedule: Part‑Time, Weekends, Saturday - Sunday, 8-10 hours per day
Primary Responsibilities and Duties- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ health status, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
- Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and other team members to establish goals of care and develop appropriate care strategies.
- Regularly reassess resident needs and adjust care plans accordingly, ensuring continuity and responsiveness to changing conditions.
- Provide skilled nursing interventions and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established care protocols.
- Administer medications, perform wound care, monitor vital signs, and manage medical equipment as needed to support resident health and recovery.
- Coordinate with ancillary services, including therapy, dietary, and social services to ensure comprehensive and integrated care delivery.
- Educate residents and families on health conditions, treatment options, medication management, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and empowerment.
- Provide emotional support, counseling, and advocacy to residents and families facing health challenges, fostering trust and therapeutic relationship.
- Promote preventive health practices and wellness initiatives to optimize resident health and quality of life.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in resident medical records.
- Participate in care conferences and team meetings to discuss residents’ progress goals, and any changes in condition or care needs.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for residents, staff and visitors.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including registered nurses, physicians, therapists, and social workers, to optimize resident outcomes and promote teamwork.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where work is performed.
- 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a long‑term care or skilled nursing facility setting.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and best practices in long‑term care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements governing nursing practices and skilled nursing facilities.
- Ability to build rapport with patients through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
- Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with residents.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.
- Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
- Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
- Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
- Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
- The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high‑stress situations.
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
