Registered Nurse RN Surgical PCU at Banner Health Mesa, AZ

Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical PCU – Banner Health, Mesa, Arizona. Day shift, 3×12‑hour shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) with weekend rotations using the self‑scheduling tool. Salary $15,000 plus $15,000 sign‑on bonus (eligible with 12months RN experience and a 2‑year commitment).

As an RN in the Surgical PCU, you will provide continuous cardiac monitoring and critical‑care nursing for post‑ICU survivors and patients after cardiac procedures on a 37‑bed unit.

Enjoy an 18% night shift differential and a flat $3/hour weekend shift differential.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. The incumbent is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction, utilizing specialized knowledge and judgment to provide assessment, care, and evaluation appropriate to the patient’s developmental age.

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history, labs, diagnostics, and report abnormal results.
• Formulate a plan of care including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team; set realistic, measurable goals.
• Implement the plan via direct care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team; provide care per physician orders and nursing plan, comply with policies, and delegate appropriately.
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed; assess progress toward goals and outcomes.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure legibility, timeliness, and completeness.
• Provide evidence‑based care and participate in research or quality improvement activities; engage in shared leadership and mentor staff.
• Contribute to timely, efficient, equitable, and safe care to achieve national nursing quality indicators; participate in professional organizations.
• Supervise staff and workflow as required; interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts.

• Valid RN license in the state of practice (temporary, interim, or compact). BLS certification required.
• At least 12months of RN experience in an acute‑care setting within the past 12months or a minimum of one year in a specialty acute‑care hospital, as applied for.
• Ability to operate a personal vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license (if home‑health scope applies).
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required at time of hire and throughout employment (if applicable).

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
• Professional nursing certification relevant to critical‑care (e.g., CCRN).
• Additional education or experience in surgical or cardiac critical‑care units.
