Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports the operations of a Bio Life Plasma Center. You will work under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and for medical issues under the Center Physician.
About the RoleEvery day, donor interactions motivate you to collect high‑quality plasma that becomes life‑changing medicine. A strong commitment to customer service, quality, and safety is expected.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and lab testing.
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results; notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing the Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance concerning donor safety or eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for staff.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduation from a recognized nursing program with state licensing.
- Licensed in the state of assignment as an LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Location:
USA – AZ – Mesa
Hourly wage: $25.60 – $35.20 (actual wage based on qualifications, experience, and local minimum wage).
