Schedule:
4 days a week, 10‑hour shifts (7:00am to 5:30pm, some days 6:00am), rotating on‑call, weekends, and holidays (on‑call 5:30pm to 7:00am). Must live within a 30‑minute drive to the hospital due to strict response times.
Position:
Imaging Nurse Support – Hospital. Will occasionally float to MRI to cover nurse monitor cases or cases done under general anesthesia. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparation and recovery of patients receiving conscious sedation. This role functions as procedural nurse in angio, CT, and ultrasound cases.
- Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within appropriate timeframe.
- Formulate and implement a plan of care, including the discharge plan, based on assessment data and patient, family, and health team input; revise as needed.
- Delegate and supervise nursing team activities, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed, and document all assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record.
- Provide care based on physician orders and nursing plan of care; maintain accurate and timely documentation of physician orders, nursing interventions, and patient responses.
- Participate in research activities within clinical practice, unit or facility shared leadership, and education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors.
- Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes, including participation in professional organizations and improvement of national nursing quality indicators.
- In some roles, supervise staff and workflow of the department.
- Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts, including community providers and agencies, concerning patient health care; provide spiritual support as needed.
- Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact RN license).
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in an acute care setting (ICU, ER, or procedural area) within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area; minimum one year experience required for Banner Registry and Travel positions.
- Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work, demonstrated through annual validations.
- Individuals in home health must possess a valid driver’s license, operate a personal vehicle, and maintain active auto insurance coverage.
- Individuals in behavioral health clinical settings that serve children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and maintain it for the duration of employment; an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed on hire.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
