Position Overview
Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is hiring a Resource RN to provide patient care throughout the facility, including Medical/Surgical, PCU, and Outpatient Observation units.
ScheduleFull‑time Day Shift, 3 12‑hour shifts per week (7:00am–7:30pm). Weekend and holiday rotation required. Shift differentials: 18% for night shifts and $3 per hour for weekend shifts.
Core FunctionsAssess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
Review patient history, family input, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results and complete assessments within appropriate time frames.
Formulate and revise an individualized plan of care, including realistic, measurable goals, and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team.
Provide care based on physician orders and nursing standards, delegate appropriately, and ensure continuity of care through accurate communication.
Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise the plan of care as necessary.
Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely and legible manner.
Provide evidence‑based care and may participate in research and shared leadership activities.
Participate in education, orientation, and mentoring of facility personnel, patients, and visitors.
Contribute to high‑quality patient outcomes and engage in professional organizations and quality improvement initiatives.
Supervise staff and workflow when warranted by the role.
Interact with staff across multiple departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts, including community agencies and clergy for spiritual support.
- Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or a temporary/interim/compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Recent acute‑care experience (within the last 12 months) in a specialty area relevant to the position.
- Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional nursing credentials.
- Additional related education or experience in the specialty area.
