Overview
Nurse Intern – Optum Rx Infusion (Mesa, AZ). This 10‑week, full‑time internship starts on June 3, 2025 and requires 40 hours per week. Interns will travel up to 60 miles per day to infusion sites and patients’ homes, with mileage reimbursement.
Primary Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and analyze clinical and lab data.
- Develop, interpret, implement, and document individualized care plans.
- Administer IV therapy medications and manage vascular access.
- Monitor patient progress and report relevant findings to provider.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide patient education based on disease state, treatment, access, and adherence.
- Travel with infusion staff to perform in‑home infusion therapy (per market requirements).
- Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or RN Bachelor’s Degree program with graduation anticipated within 12 months of internship.
- In the final months of an accredited ADN or RN Bachelor’s program and expected to graduate by end of internship.
- Held an accredited ADN or BSN degree and graduated within 12 months prior to internship start.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Available to work full‑time (40 hours per week) during the internship (June3–Aug8).
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in future.
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
- Experience with infusion therapy.
- Knowledge of clinical terminology.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Hourly rate: $16.00 to $20.43. Salary is based on local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
