Registered Nurse
- Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Location:

Gilbert, Arizona. Department:
Emergency Center
- Hospital. Shift: Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Full-time position with self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.

Compensation includes an 18% night shift differential and a flat rate of $3 per hour for weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice.

  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; reviews patient history, physical, diagnostics, and laboratory data; reports abnormal results.
  • Formulates a plan of care including discharge planning; initiates and revises plans based on assessment data and patient/team input.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health-care team; provides nursing supervision and promotes continuity of care.
  • Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching; revises the plan of care and evaluates progress toward goals.
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensures documentation is legible, timely, and accurate.
  • Provides care based on best evidence; may participate in research activities within clinical practice; participates in unit or facility shared leadership and education of personnel.
  • Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes; actively participates in improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes; may participate in professional organizations.
  • In some roles, may supervise staff and workflow of the department.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to coordinate care; works with clergy for spiritual support.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Current, valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure).
    • BLS certification required.
    • Experience in the clinical area desired; for acute care positions a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months.
    • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work, demonstrated through annual validations.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Professional certification preferred.
    • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
