Primary City/State:
Mesa, Arizona

Department: 2A Trauma‑Neuro ICU – Banner Desert Medical Center

Shift: Night, 12‑hour shifts (7:00PM – 7:30AM), 3 shifts per week.
18% night shift differential and a $3hour weekend shift differential.

Sign‑On Bonuses:
• $10,000 for 1year RN experience with a 1‑year commitment.
• $15,000 for 1year ICU RN experience with a 2‑year commitment.

Position Summary

This RN examines, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care for patients in the Trauma‑Neuro ICU, ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centered care under the organization’s policies and nursing practice standards.

Core Functions
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge‑planning needs; review history, diagnostics, laboratory data, and interdisciplinary information.
  • Formulate a patient‑specific plan of care with realistic, measurable goals and collaborate with multidisciplinary team; revise as patient status changes.
  • Implement the plan through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of health‑care team activities; communicate patient status to other caregivers.
  • Evaluate patient and family response to care and education; revise plan of care accordingly.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; ensure legible, timely documentation.
  • Provide evidence‑based care and may participate in research activities within clinical practice; engage in unit or facility shared leadership and mentor peers.
  • Contribute to society by improving patient outcomes, participating in professional organizations and nursing quality initiatives.
  • In some roles, supervise staff and manage department workflow.
  • Interact with all staff levels, physicians, families, and external contacts; provide spiritual support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, valid RN license (state or compact) in the state of practice.
  • BLS certification.
  • At least one year of acute‑care hospitalization experience as a RN in the past 12months; for travel positions, experience in a physician practice or acute setting required.
  • Experience in the clinical area sought for the specific RN role.
  • For home‑health or behavioral‑health roles: valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.
  • Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of practice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Professional nursing certification.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
