The COORDINATOR‑PERIOPERATIVE RN assists with the coordination and overall management of specific perioperative services, providing direct patient care and supporting the perioperative team.

• Coordinate and overall manage perioperative services, including staffing, material, and patient care activities.
• Actively interface with physicians to provide customer service at the point of care and facilitate communication with patients, families, and the care team.
• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient and significant others' self‑care needs and teaching needs using a variety of assessment tools.
• Develop, initiate, and maintain comprehensive individualized patient plans of care, including discharge planning, in collaboration with the patient/therapists and the health‑care team.
• Establish measurable specialty goals, assist with capital budget preparation, and plan for staffing and special patient equipment needs.
• Implement the plan of care from perioperative admission to discharge, demonstrating clinical competency, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills during direct patient care.
• Perform effective interventions during unit or patient care crises or emergency situations.
• Document pertinent information and maintain accurate care records.
• Provide frontline inventory control and assist with ordering of supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate patient care activities and physician requests, ensuring availability of supplies and equipment at the time of surgery.
• Assist with the interview of prospective employees, conduct monthly specialty meetings, and evaluate the response of patients and significant others to nursing interventions.
• Assist with performance evaluation of staff and recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
• Serve as a policy and practice resource within the assigned unit, implementing in‑service programs and staff development initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling hours to meet clinical needs of all shifts and ensure compliance with regulatory educational requirements.
• Participate in continuing education, quality improvement activities, and support membership in professional organizations.
• Assist in capital planning for the assigned service line and develop orientation schedules for new employees.
• Facilitate interdepartmental in‑services to meet regulatory needs and assist with the development of orientation communication tools.
• Promote quality of patient care by practicing and enforcing existing policies, using evidence‑based knowledge for decision making.
• Assist in the clinical development of staff specialty skills and promote staff talent through clinical professional activities.
• Monitor regulatory lists, document orientation progress, and maintain current documentation and certification requirements.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

• Associate’s Diploma – Required.
• Bachelor's Degree – Preferred.

• 2 years RN experience – Required.
• 2 years as a Perioperative Nurse (OR, Pre‑op/Pacu, Endoscopy) – Required.
• 1 to 2 years in a specialty – Preferred.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required upon hire.
• Driver’s License (valid and in‑state) – Required upon hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN) – State licensure and/or compact – Required upon hire.
