Position:
Registered Nurse – Wound/Ostomy Services (IP)
Primary responsibilities include the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans for individuals with wound and ostomy needs. The role emphasizes family‑centered, evidence‑based practices and collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork.
Responsibilities- Collect comprehensive health data, prioritize assessments, and develop individualized nursing diagnoses and care plans.
- Initiate treatments, medications, IV lines, and emergency interventions per standing orders and protocols.
- Provide direct patient care and education to patients and families, covering medication administration, wound management, and self‑care instructions.
- Document observations, interventions, and therapeutic measures in a retrievable, accurate manner.
- Mentor and precept new hire staff and students, facilitating skill competency and professional development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate patient progress, adjust care plans, and support evidence‑based practice improvements.
- Integrate ethical principles and cultural sensitivity into all aspects of nursing practice.
- Required:
1‑2 years of experience in an inpatient wound setting. - Preferred:
Wound/ostomy/continence certification. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; unit‑specific certifications as needed.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or applicable compact state.
- National unit‑specific certification preferred.
- Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire or have 5+ years of RN experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 months in a med‑surg or acute specialty setting.
- At least 1 year of RN experience required for float positions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – certification required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) – State license or compact license in Arizona.
- Unit‑specific patient population certification – preferred.
