Position Summary

This position, in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families, coordinates and promotes patient health utilizing evidence-based practice in the delivery of professional nursing care across the continuum. It advocates for patients and families adhering to nursing and medical plans, regulatory standards, and organizational values.

• Utilizes multiple platforms to complete a nursing assessment of patients and their families consistent with age and condition, including physical, psychological, social, developmental, and educational factors. Synthesizes and analyzes data to determine nursing diagnoses, prioritize needs, and develop a nursing plan of care.
• Implements plans of care in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provides health education related to health promotion and management of acute and chronic health conditions. Coordinates care and manages transitions within the organization and community. Advocates for patients and families, offering support and guidance related to ambulatory services, resource management, and community-based services. Partners with patients and families to establish realistic goals and expectations.
• Continually evaluates patient understanding and response to the plan of care, shares observations with the healthcare team, and modifies nursing diagnoses and plan of care based on re-evaluation. Documents in the medical record.
• Facilitates the delivery of safe patient care, monitors quality and regulatory indicators, and works with leaders to identify process improvement opportunities. Supervises patient care activities of assigned team members, delegates tasks, and provides timely feedback to ensure safety, infection control, and performance standards.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing required activities within established parameters to ensure compliance with medication, storage, and documentation standards, regulations, and requirements.
• Fosters a positive learning environment by modeling best practices and patient-centered care while providing guidance, training, and support to students and new employees through mentorship, clinical instruction, and knowledge sharing.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.

• Two-year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four-year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree.
  Required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or current enrollment in an RN to BSN program.

• Pediatric experience.

• Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges, or ability to establish licensure under Arizona law prior to start date.

• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification may be required within 90 days of entry for select departments.
