As a Flight RN, you will be stationed at one of four bases located in Arizona and work with highly experienced flight medical crews to provide care to critical patients.

This is a full‑time position working 24‑hour shifts per week, with one on‑call shift required per month. The role will begin on 9/28 and will require travel to Denton, TX for flight training from 9/30‑10/10 before returning to Phoenix. This is a Relief RN for Banner Payson, with the main base in Payson, AZ and the ability to float to bases in Queen Creek, Casa Grande and Sun City West as needed.

• Provides care and transport for critically ill or injured patients of all age groups. Independently assesses patients, intervenes with medications and procedures, and provides care to achieve maximum outcomes.
• Collaborates with other health team members and healthcare team members from other facilities to provide continuity of care and the highest level of care that may not be available at some external facilities.
• Communicates effectively while working with internal and external customers including hospitals, EMS, and police and fire departments.
• Completes annual education requirements as outlined in the annual education requirements document.
• Performs advanced procedures with appropriate training and competency validations. Procedures include chest tubes, central lines, I/O placement, cricothyrotomy, and intubation.
• Performs all physical requirements of the job in confined spaces, during potentially adverse environmental conditions.
• Operates an assigned vehicle in varying weather conditions, providing safe, reliable, and timely transport to a designated point of service as needed (Colorado Employees only).
• Employs solutions‑oriented and collaborative practices with others to find safe means to move toward patients and find transport solutions when operational constraints may prohibit normal operations and capabilities.
• Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient; synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of hire and compact status for any other states the program serves.
• Current certifications required upon hire: ACLS, PALS, and BLS; an NRP card must be obtained prior to assuming clinical responsibilities.
• If hired on or before 10/9/25, a Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) certification is required within 30 months of hire. If hired after 10/9/25, CFRN certification is required within 24 months of hire.
• Minimum of three years of Critical Care and/or Emergency Department experience.
• Maintain flight duty weight of less than 225 pounds in plain clothes.
• Must have training and competencies in advanced procedures such as central line placement, advanced airway management, chest tube placement, arterial lines, umbilical lines, and other advanced procedures; must demonstrate critical thinking, autonomous practice, and successful completion of testing during interview and orientation.

  Valid driver’s license on date of hire and maintenance thereafter.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Rotor‑wing/fixed‑wing/ground critical care transport experience desired.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
