The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health has received the highest accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP). Banner Health’s New Nurse Experience (NNE) provides a collaborative learning environment where you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and transition from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health.

About our program:
The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators.

Unit preferences will be taken into consideration as we strive to achieve your long term nursing career goals. Within the program we hope to successfully match your desired service line with the needs of the business. Day and night positions are available. Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

• Clinical experiences with a preceptor

• Competency and skills assessment and verification
• Orientation to the Cerner electronic medical health record system
• Patient care skills lab that provides hands-on experience with equipment

• Recent or Upcoming graduation from an accredited nursing program
• BSN is preferred - open to ADN at select locations
• Current BLS card (through either American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI) or ability to obtain certification before a start date
• No More than 12 months of RN experience

Unit Overview:
Banner Desert Medical Center/Banner Children’s at Desert has 28 Operating Rooms, which includes 3 trauma rooms, 6 pediatric rooms, 1 cysto suite, 1 hybrid suite, 5 robotic rooms, and 3 CV rooms. In 2025, BDMC/BCD performed just under 22,000 surgeries. Our technologies include a full fleet of da Vinci dV5 robots, NICO, Mako robot, and Stealth guided brain surgery. Prior clinical experience is preferred.

Yes, weekend and holiday rotations required.

Enjoy a flat rate $5/hr for call, $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential, when applicable.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
