The Nursing Director leads and oversees nursing and medical-support services for ANASAZI Foundation’s Outdoor Behavioral Health Care Program, ensuring safe, appropriate nursing care consistent with Arizona law, professional nursing standards, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and ANASAZI policies.

This primarily office-based position provides nursing leadership, direct client ca r, medication-management oversight, infection prevention, quality assurance, staff supervision, and regular field involvement.

• Direct and oversee nursing services, client health monitoring, medication management, infection prevention, nursing documentation, and continuity of care.
• Conduct or oversee required nursing assessments, health screenings, medication reconciliation, and ongoing evaluation of client health needs.
• Provide direct nursing care and participate in regular field visits as needed to support client health and program operations.
• Coordinate client medical needs with parents/caregivers, pharmacies, laboratories, healthcare providers, hospitals, emergency services, and other appropriate resources.
• Oversee medication preparation, administration, storage, documentation, reconciliation, and disposal in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Supervise, orient, train, and evaluate assigned nursing personnel and ensure nursing services are provided within appropriate professional scope, authorization, and demonstrated competency.
• Coordinate and oversee PRN, temporary, or contracted nursing personnel as assigned.
• Provide health and medication-related education to clients, families, and staff when appropriate.
• Monitor nursing records, medication errors, significant medical events, infection concerns, and other health and safety indicators.
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management, incident review, emergency preparedness, internal audits, and accreditation activities related to nursing services.
• Develop, review, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, medical protocols, and appropriate medical supplies.
• Determine or coordinate medically necessary dietary, allergy, or health-related food modifications and communicate instructions to appropriate personnel for implementation.
• Promptly communicate significant medical, medication, safety, or regulatory concerns to appropriate leadership and personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, client rights, and mandatory-reporting requirements.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program meeting requirements for Registered Nurse licensure in Arizona.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Professional nursing experience required.
• Nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, adolescent health, residential care, emergency care, community health, or Outdoor Behavioral Health Care Programs preferred.

• Current, unrestricted Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced emergency or field medical certification, such as ACLS, Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, or equivalent, preferred when relevant to assigned responsibilities.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card as required by applicable law and ANASAZI policy.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving eligibility when assigned field or medical transportation responsibilities.
