Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction environments
- 4–5+ years of field experience supporting data center structured cabling systems (copper and fiber)
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience installing and testing copper and fiber cabling
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents
- Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar construction management platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu and/or CAD tools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- BICSI RCDD certification
- College degree (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred)
Job Description
An employer is seeking a QA/QC Specialist to support data center construction projects across multiple U.S. locations. This role is responsible for managing and executing daily quality control activities to ensure projects are built in accordance with contractual requirements, customer standards, and industry best practices.
The QA/QC Specialist will provide direct oversight of project documentation and on‑site physical inspections throughout the construction lifecycle. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders (Project Managers, Superintendents, Lead Technicians) and external partners (subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives) to ensure the delivery of a high‑quality, fully compliant installation.
Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining site‑level QA/QC management systems covering, but not limited to:
- Cable tray routing
- Conduit installations
- Rack and cabinet placement
- Port labeling and accuracy
- Copper and fiber testing validation
Additional responsibilities include:
- Participating in internal and external site audits
- Coordinating all site quality inspections with subcontractors and client representatives
- Managing and closing all quality control documentation for project closeout and handover
- Tracking non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and overseeing corrective actions
- Reviewing customer specifications and completing required quality‑related training
- Monitoring compliance with the approved site QA/QC Plan
- Reviewing and coordinating approval of QA/QC technical submittals
- Collaborating with Project Managers on all quality‑related issues
- Leading weekly QA/QC meetings with subcontractor quality teams
- Ensuring all quality‑related technical documentation is accurate and up to date
- Base Salary: $80,000 annually
- Bonus: 3% annual performance bonus
