- Hands‑on involvement with both commercial and government rotorcraft maintenance and modification programs
- Directly supervise and manage the Quality Assurance Department, including Chief Inspectors, Inspectors, and Records staff
- Ensure inspections are properly performed, with all inspection records, reports, and forms completed prior to release to service
- Approve implementation or changes to all forms, tags, and documentation used by the repair station
- Maintain up‑to‑date technical data, including manufacturer manuals, service bulletins, part specifications, and FAA‑approved data
- Ensure periodic checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision equipment, maintaining current records
- Prevent defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts from being installed
- Submit reports of defects or unairworthy conditions in accordance with 14 CFR §145.221
- Oversee maintenance releases and FAA Form 337 execution when required
- Implement procedures to prevent “bogus” or unapproved parts from entering the system
- Oversee preliminary, in‑progress, hidden damage, and final inspections of all articles
- Ensure proper tagging, identification, and segregation of all parts and components
- Maintain a regulatory library including FAA regulations, type certificate data sheets, and airworthiness directives
- Compile work orders and inspection forms for easy retrieval and regulatory compliance
- Ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 121, 125, 129, or 135 Carrier Continuous Airworthiness Programs
- Serve as ISO Quality Manager, ensuring ISO‑9001 compliance and leading internal audits and process improvement initiatives
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required; FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in an FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station with progressive supervisory and inspector roles
- 5+ years of rotorcraft experience (Bell, MD, Airbus) in A&P or inspector roles
- Technical degree in an aviation‑related field (degree may be offset by experience)
- Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, repair station programs, and procedures
- Experience working with FAA regulators preferred
- Proficiency with maintenance planning software (e.g., EBIS) and general office software (Word, Excel, email)
- Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, as defined by ITAR
- Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) compliance
- Strong verbal and written communication, business writing, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload in a multi‑project environment
- Honest, trustworthy, respectful, and culturally aware
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments and regulatory agencies
- Demonstrates sound work ethics and professional judgment
Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to comply with ITAR regulations.
