Cactus Yards Grill Cook

Craft Culinary Concepts. The Grill Cook is responsible for ensuring timely, safe food is produced using current recipes and guest requests to achieve a quality result.

Essential Job Functions

The Grill Cook must have knowledge of food preparation techniques and be able to produce hot and cold food items using approved recipes meeting exacting standards. This includes handling food from a raw state through the cooking and preparation process to final plating for service and or display. The Grill Cook must follow and enforce food safety and sanitation practices to ensure all food is handled in accordance with local health department and Craft Culinary Concepts policies.

This includes proper use of cooking utensils and equipment, storage, labeling, and dating of food products, as well as keeping working areas clean and sanitized. The Grill Cook will work with teammates of varying skill levels and must partner with others to achieve successful results, such as cleaning kitchen areas during and after events and leaving them ready for future use.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid Pima County Food Handler Card on file with Craft Culinary Concepts and in possession for each shift worked
  • Must perform mathematical equations as they relate to recipes
  • Must understand and follow specific instructions for recipes
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must complete all pre‑employment forms, successfully pass a background check and a math assessment involving all US monetary units
  • Must work with a group as well as independently
  • Must work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment
Other Skills / Abilities
  • Preferred current Serv Safe Certification
  • Preferred 2+ years experience in a high‑volume kitchen setting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for several hours
  • Ability to work non‑traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations and around excessive noise
