Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities of the Assistant Restaurant Manager:
- Works closely with Restaurant and Bar Manager to plan and coordinate daily restaurant, bar and banquet operations.
- Assist with supervising staff to ensure efficient, effective and memorable service.
- Ensures that all dining areas and bars are properly set up and maintained to meet quality and cleanliness standards, and well stocked and organized. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the restaurant and informs the GM of needed maintenance and repair.
- Organizes and conducts pre-shift meetings to review specials, menu changes, house counts, etc.
- Circulates throughout the restaurant facilities and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
- Greets members at tables to ensure complete customer satisfaction and attention to guest needs.
- Monitor member/guest feedback and address concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure member/guest preferences and special requests are accommodated whenever possible.
- Oversees daily restaurant activities to include: serving tables, bussing tables, seating guests, and general clerical/cashier duties. Ensures end-of-day reports for charging accuracies.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to offer suggestions and comments from members/guests regarding menu items.
- Maintain knowledge of food and beverage offerings and suggest appropriate pairings to members/guests.
- Assist restaurant and bar manager with inventories as needed.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including banquets, private parties, etc.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth event operations.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising restaurant and bar staff.
- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate.
- Ensure staff adherence to service standards and company policy and procedures.
- Ensures safe work practices in job performance.
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, with supervisory or management experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Alcohol Awareness Training, Food Safety and appropriate sanitation training.
