RoleSolution Engineering Manager – Strategic West Solution Engineering Team
You will build and lead a high‑performing team of Solution Engineers, demonstrating and communicating the value of SailPoint’s products and thought leadership to prospective customers in the Identity Governance market.
What you will do- Hire, coach, and manage a high‑performing Solution Engineering team to achieve goals.
- Manage individual and team performance, ensuring actions maintain high levels of performance.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem‑solving, and management consulting skills to influence automation and adoption across customer constituencies.
- Improve SailPoint’s sales methodology and processes, developing tailored product presentations and demonstrations for partners.
- Identify training gaps and implement programs to enhance sales, product, and technology skills of the team.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales directors on account planning, strategy, and sales call activity.
- Provide insightful input to field sales, product management, and marketing functions.
- Manage relationships with product teams and decision makers, both internally and externally.
- 5+ years as a sales engineering manager and 5+ years as a sales engineer.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable speaking to technical and business audiences.
- Strong understanding of identity security solutions, market dynamics, and best practices.
- Within 30 Days: Onboard and meet all team members and sales leaders in the territories you support.
- Within 60 Days: Understand key business opportunities and establish cadences with peers, sales, and team.
- Within 90 Days: Complete product training and synchronize rhythm with team, peers, and leadership.
- Within 1 Year: Partner fully with sales leaders, earn team trust, and achieve budget for supported territories.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Must reside in a Western U.S. state.
