Overview
Business Development Manager responsible for developing new business and driving sales with key NSP customers to achieve efficient and profitable sales of the company’s products.
Responsibilities- Develop new business and maintain and drive sales with key NSP customers.
- Assist the team in optimizing existing accounts and prospects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new accounts.
- Interface with other departments to drive business within accounts and resolve issues.
- Provide direction, advice, and support to team members when the manager is unavailable.
- Develop and demonstrate ability to build relationships with key account managers and end users within major NSP accounts, focusing on Insight and Zones.
- Meet or exceed sales and profit goals set by senior management.
- Develop and execute business plans with the Senior National Account Manager or Sales Director to achieve goals.
- Lead and motivate the sales team to perform excellently.
- Increase net sales by reducing returns and allowances where appropriate.
- Assist Senior National Account Managers and Sales Directors with sales calls, pipeline management, and inventory.
- Optimize profitability of all sales and activities in the Business Channel.
- Conduct sales and training meetings as required and attend all mandatory meetings.
- Collaborate with the entire sales team, including channel support and other BDMs, to share best practices and maximize results.
- Assist customers with account‑related questions, issues, or concerns.
- Provide accurate, timely information to customers regarding product, pricing, and quotes.
- Participate in forecasting reviews to gain insights and improve processes.
- Conduct weekly reviews of sales, RMAs, returns & allowances, quotes, promotions, sell‑through, inventory management, turns, forecasts, and other account activities that impact financial results.
- Analyze industry market trends, competition, products, and pricing to inform sales strategy.
- Review and analyze POS data where available to identify growth opportunities.
- Escalate critical account or policy issues to management immediately.
- Prepare customer recaps for meetings and ensure action items are addressed, including delegation to channel support representatives.
- Review daily sales and compare actual versus projected results, and present findings when requested.
- Provide positive reinforcement and constructive criticism to team members and address issues promptly.
- Travel to trade shows and customer sites as required, including international travel where necessary.
- Maintain proficiency on the Belkin product lines.
- 3‑5 years of experience managing and selling to retail accounts.
- 1‑3 years in a sales or management capacity (or equivalent).
- Proven track record of sales growth and/or prospecting.
- Ability to multi‑task and maintain accuracy.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Travel required up to 50%; international travel may be required.
Compensation and BenefitsBase salary range: $71,000 – $75,000. Compensation includes a performance‑based bonus and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
