- Establish and manage an effective business development program to maximize organizational growth
- Direct business development activities from opportunity identification through contract award to achieve sales and new business goals
- Establish and maintain senior-level relationships within customer organizations and IQVIA Transnational, Inc.
- Manage staff in accordance with organizational policies and applicable legislation
- Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; guide professional development; reward and discipline employees; and resolve employee relations issues
- Approve human resources actions, including salary administration
- Establish and manage an effective sales program
- Provide direction and resources to sales staff, including performance management, career progression, and professional development
- Use industry networks to support junior sales staff in relationship development and identify business opportunities
- Monitor Customer Account Plans and business targets to maintain a pipeline of opportunities
- Collaborate with senior management and functional managers to identify proposal defense meeting participants
- Participate in proposal preparation and defense meetings
- Represent the sales team to senior management on key sales activity updates
- Research target markets, build relationships, deliver presentations, conduct strategic analysis, and execute plans for IQVIA service lines
- Ensure sales team members are trained to meet job objectives
- Bachelor's degree in business management required
- 15 years of relevant industry experience (CRO/Pharmaceutical) and/or sales experience, including 10 years of management responsibility, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Proven track record developing mid-level and high-level contacts
- Strategic business and industry awareness
- Solid understanding of commercialization and principles of drug discovery and development
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities
- Ability to work creatively and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to influence others internally and externally
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Experience and ability to coach and mentor employees progressively
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
- 40% travel required (based on location)
- Must reside in the same country where the job is located
