The Planner position will provide environmental planning expertise to lead or assist in obtaining local, state and/or federal permits for projects related to energy, telecommunications, water, or mining industries.

- Complete tasks associated with NEPA or other local, state and federal permitting
- Research requirements for a variety of local, state and federal permits
- Collaborate with staff, agencies, clients and other project collaborators to facilitate permit submittals and schedules
- Synthesize and communicate permit stipulations and requirements
- Track and organize permit processes and status
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s culture of safety and employee ownership
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures

Job Requirements- B.S. degree in environmental planning and/or a closely related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with or for federal, state, or local agencies
- Strong knowledge of NEPA
- Strong writing and analysis skills with the ability to provide examples
- Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently with short deadlines
- Highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy
- Ability to interact and coordinate with state, federal, local, and tribal agencies
- Willingness and ability to participate in business and client relationship development as needed
- Detailed task tracking and note‑taking ability
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
- M.S. degree in environmental planning and/or a closely related discipline
- Experience with Routing and Siting Studies
- Experience working with or for federal, state, or local agencies is a plus
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Organizing and facilitating coordination meetings, both in person and virtual, for multi‑disciplinary teams across a variety of internal and external parties
- Public outreach and engagement
- Familiarity with typical utility operations and maintenance activities
- Familiarity with Salesforce and ESRI GIS applications (including desktop, ArcGIS, Collector, Survey
123, etc.) - Excellent navigation skills and good driving record
- Experience driving a four‑wheel drive vehicle off‑road or in rough terrain
