Painters Apprentice Level - Chandler, Arizona

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Painter Apprentice to join our team of skilled professionals through the local painters union. This is an entry-level position offering hands-on training in industrial and commercial painting, with a focus on safety, craftsmanship, and union values.
Responsibilities- Assist journeyperson painters in preparing and finishing surfaces including drywall, metal, concrete, and wood.
- Apply protective coatings, primers, and decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and containment systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA and union safety standards.
- Attend required classroom instruction through the local painters union.
- Learn to read blueprints, follow specifications, and use trade tools and materials properly.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work as part of a team.

To be considered for an apprenticeship in professional painting, applicants are typically expected to meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Age:
Must be at least 18 years old. - Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Physical Fitness:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting tools and equipment, and working in various indoor and outdoor environments. - Basic Skills:
Proficiency in basic math and communication is essential for measuring, mixing materials, and coordinating with team members. - Safety Awareness: OSHA 10 certification is often required or will be provided early in the program to ensure understanding of workplace safety standards.

Apprenticeship programs combine structured classroom instruction with practical on-the-job training. A strong work ethic and eagerness to develop new skills are key.
