Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open‑pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, a crushed‑ore leach pad and stacking system, a low‑grade run‑of‑mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Highly skilled mechanic who safely performs components of diagnostic, maintenance, installation, replacement and repair of fixed plant operational equipment and related systems.

• Perform system troubleshooting, maintenance and component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems, mobile conveying systems, pump, pit dewatering, hydraulic systems, etc.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, seals for leakage, oil levels and lubrication systems.
• Perform the removal, repair and installation of piping and pump components, such as valves, expansion joints and check valves.
• Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections.
• Train and mentor other employees.
• Perform advanced welding and fabrication.
• May operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks.
• Perform as a Fill‑in Supervisor as required.
• Perform other duties as required.

Skilled Mechanic who, under supervision, safely performs diagnostic, maintenance, installation and repair of fixed plant operational equipment and related systems.

• Assist with and perform component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems, mobile conveying, pump, pit dewatering, hydraulic systems, etc.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, seals for leakage, oil levels and lubrication systems.
• Perform the removal, repair and installation of piping/pump components, such as valves, expansion joints and check valves.
• Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections.
• May perform welding and fabrication.
• May operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
