Job TitleOperator (Pipe Crew)
Pay$25 - $35 hourly

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator with experience operating excavators, loaders, and backhoes in underground utility installation. The ideal candidate will work on the pipe side of utility projects, assisting with the safe and efficient installation of water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, and backhoes to support pipe laying operations.
- Excavate trenches to specified grades and depths for utility lines.
- Safely dig around existing utilities, following all locates and safety guidelines.
- Load and place bedding material and backfill, ensuring proper compaction.
- Assist in aligning and setting pipe when needed, working closely with the pipe crew.
- Perform daily pre‑operational inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Communicate with the foreman and crew to ensure workflow remains efficient and safe.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and site‑specific safety protocols.

- Minimum 3++ years of experience operating heavy equipment on underground utility projects (Excavator/Loader/Backhoe).
- Proficient in working around live utilities and tight excavation areas.
- Understanding of trench safety, shoring systems, and proper sloping techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and grade stakes is a plus.
- Willingness to assist on the ground when not operating equipment.
