Navajo Preference Employment Act

In accordance with Navajo Nation and federal law, TCRHCC has implemented an affirmative action plan pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. Position Summary

The Maintenance Worker works under the guidance and direction of the Facility Manager or designee of the Echo Cliffs Health Center. Incumbent is issued tools, supplies, and equipment as required to complete the work assignments. Employee attends department meetings and work schedules may consist of evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; may also be subject to call‑back after hours.

Qualifications Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Must have two (2) years of general work experience in Facilities Maintenance

License/Certification

Must have a current, unrestricted, valid state driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to speak Navajo, Hopi, or San Juan Southern Paiute

Responsibilities Carpentry
  • Assists with repairs and installation of doors, windows, screens, wall siding, ceramic tiles, vinyl floor tiles, ceiling tiles, shelves, refinishing cabinets, hardwood floors, etc.
  • Measures and cuts lumber and wallboard under specific instructions; fits lumber using hand and power tools; fastens materials into place using nails, screws, fasteners, and adhesives.
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance program duties and other preventive maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintains the hospital grounds by mowing grass, pruning, trimming, and planting trees, shrubs, and hedges.
  • Sprays seeded areas, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc., with herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, etc., to control weed, disease, and insects.
  • Hauls debris, sand, gravel, tools, supplies and other equipment using transport vehicles.
