Aboutthe Position
Performs industrial journey-level electrical, electronic, and computer work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s water and wastewater systems and equipment.
Effective June 14 2026, the salary range for this position will be $35.40–$47.81/hour. Anticipated starting salary may be up to the mid‑point depending on the candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is $35.40–$47.81 per hour, and the mid‑point for this position is $41.18 per hour.
Education and Experience- A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
- Five years of experience as a journeyman‑level electrician in an industrial setting, three years of which includes equivalent experience as a utility electrician or instrumentation technician in a municipal Wastewater environment.
- Satisfactory completion of a two‑year electrician apprenticeship in an industrial setting will meet the required years of experience for the Wastewater Electrician II.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job‑related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out‑of‑state driver’s licenses be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Must possess or obtain and maintain within six months of hire or promotion a Grade 1 operator certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) in one of the following disciplines:
Wastewater Treatment or Wastewater Collection. - Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale must reside in the State of Arizona during active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved for remote work.
