Concrete​/Asphalt Laborer - Field Worker

Hourly Pay: $24.41
Monday – Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Full Time (40 hours per week), Temporary (6-month assignment)

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor and equipment-assisted maintenance tasks to assist co-workers with maintenance and repair of streets, storm drain systems, parkways, and right of way.
• Assist Field Worker II and Equipment Operators with construction, maintenance, and repair of city streets.
• Operate motor vehicles and/or equipment such as water truck, asphalt patch truck, dump truck, pneumatic roller and pick-up truck used to haul various trailers.
• Operate a variety of hand-held power equipment such as jackhammers, tampers, blowers, etc.
• Work in adverse weather conditions and may entail working close to heavy traffic.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Experience with hot mix asphalt, concrete, seal coat, right-of-way, or other related street maintenance activities.
• One year of experience involving outdoor exposure and physical exertion and/or one year operating construction equipment or heavy trucks or other related equipment.
• Valid Arizona Driver License.
