Engine Technician

Join a collaborative team in an FAA-certified repair station, providing high-quality maintenance and repair services on PT6A and PT6T turbine engine series. In this role, you perform complete engine workscopes including disassembly, cleaning, evaluation, repair, and reassembly of turbine engines while adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on PT6A turbine engines in accordance with FAA and internal standards.
  • Disassemble turbine engines, clean components, and evaluate parts for wear, defects, or damage.
  • Repair or replace worn, defective, or damaged components using appropriate tools, equipment, and approved methods.
  • Reassemble turbine engines, ensuring proper fit, clearances, and torque values, and verify work through inspection and testing as required.
  • Read and interpret turbine engine manuals, diagrams, charts, schematics, and overhaul documentation to determine proper procedures and specifications.
  • Use hand tools and other mechanical equipment safely and effectively to perform engine repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic activities to identify mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform detailed inspections of engines and components to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work, share findings, and support efficient workflow.
  • Apply strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve technical issues and improve repair processes.
  • Work and bend in limited work spaces and lift components and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow all safety procedures, compliance requirements, and company policies, including participation in required testing and screenings.
  • Demonstrate reliability, a positive attitude, and strong performance to support potential conversion from contract to direct hire.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when needed.

Essential

Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in an aviation maintenance environment, preferably working on PT6A turbine engines.
  • Demonstrated experience in engine repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using hand tools for engine repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret turbine engine manuals, diagrams, charts, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good problem-solving skills and sound judgment in a technical environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain professional interpersonal relationships.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined or limited work spaces.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass an FAA-compliant drug test.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Prior hands-on experience specifically with PT6A or PT6T turbine engines is highly preferred.
  • Experience in an FAA-certified repair station or similar regulated aviation environment.
  • Possession of personal hand tools suitable for turbine engine maintenance; specialized tooling is provided.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks, documentation, and parts efficiently.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with technicians, inspectors, and other team members.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Mechanical certifications or an A&P license are beneficial, though not explicitly required.
  • Commitment to maintaining high quality standards and continuous learning through on-the-job training.
