Position SummaryUnder general supervision, the Maintenance Technician/Plumber performs a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance duties involving the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of EVIT buildings, grounds, equipment, and plumbing systems. The position supports the safe, efficient, and code‑compliant operation of EVIT facilities by performing general building maintenance and serving as the primary resource for plumbing‑related repairs and maintenance throughout EVIT campuses.

Job Type: Full Time, Non‑Exempt. Standard hours are Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM‑3:30 PM, with a shift adjustment to 9:00‑5:00 every 8th week.
Stipend: $3,000 per year, distributed evenly over the year, for plumbing responsibilities.
Salary: $24.89 – $31.00 per hour, based on education, industry‑related experience, teaching experience, and certification.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, plumbing, construction, or a related field.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
- Backflow prevention certification.
- Specialized training or experience in plumbing, HVAC/R systems, mechanical systems, or electrical maintenance.
- Refrigerant recovery certification.
- Experience working in a public school or government setting.
- Completion of vocational or technical training in plumbing.
- Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 IVP fingerprint card.
- Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella for those born after January 1, 1957.
- Possession of a valid Arizona driver’s license.
