Painter Team Lead
As a Painter Team Lead, you will oversee a team of 5+ painters, manage and supervise painting activities, and ensure high-quality work in the preparation, painting, foaming, and finishing of HVAC systems and components.
Responsibilities- Manage, supervise, coach, and train painters.
- Oversee the preparation, painting, foaming, and finishing of HVAC systems and components, ensuring high-quality work.
- Design and develop painting systems and procedures for HVAC projects, selecting appropriate coatings for different materials and environments.
- Coach and mentor Painter 1s and Painter 2s, providing guidance, training, and support to develop their skills.
- Inspect HVAC components and systems to determine the best approach for painting, including surface preparation, coating selection, and application techniques.
- Manage and coordinate painting schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects and effective use of resources.
- Perform complex painting tasks, including intricate detailing, high-durability coatings, and protective finishes.
- Conduct quality control inspections, ensuring finished surfaces meet aesthetic, functional, and durability requirements.
- Ensure that all painting work complies with company quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
- Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition and performing preventive maintenance as needed.
- Stay current with new painting technologies, materials, and industry best practices, implementing improvements as needed.
- Follow instructions and work under the supervision of more experienced painters.
- Follow lean manufacturing guidelines, providing continuous improvement suggestions for gained efficiency.
- 3+ years of lead or management experience.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and the ability to deliver high-quality, durable finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental controls, and PPE requirements in industrial painting.
- Spanish speaking only candidates acceptable.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with paint systems, paint shop, painting, and paint booth operations.
- Understanding of how to set up spray gun, mix paint, and clean systems in an industrial automotive/truck or boat spray setting.
- Experience working in an environment where painting is a daily task, wearing a respirator, and maintaining all equipment used.

WorkEnvironment
Work in a modern state-of-the-art facility equipped with industry 4.0 technology, located in Mesa, Arizona. The facility is air-conditioned and provides a clean and organized workspace. The role requires the use of personal protective equipment and may involve lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders. The position offers a weekend shift (Friday to Sunday, 5 AM to 5:30 PM) with a weekend shift premium.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
