Facilities Supervisor
This role oversees a new manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona, leading a team of facilities technicians and ensuring all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The Facilities Supervisor manages daily work orders, coordinates mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC activities, and serves as a key liaison between technicians, vendors, and executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of at least five facilities technicians, ensuring high performance, safety, and adherence to procedures.
- Prioritize, assign, and respond to daily work order tasks using a ticketing system such as Service Now, UpKeep, or similar tools.
- Coordinate and complete all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work required to support a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades, and leverage vendor expertise to expand team knowledge.
- Collaborate with executive-level employees to provide updates on facility status, ongoing projects, and critical issues.
- Perform mechanical tasks including work with compressed air systems, plumbing installation, mounting equipment, and supporting facility upgrades.
- Execute electrical tasks such as running power, installing outlets, running cables, and performing cable terminations.
- Apply a strong understanding of electrical circuits, load basics, and high-load environments to ensure safe and compliant installations.
- Support facility upgrades and improvements, including planning and coordinating work on air compressors, cooling towers, and other critical systems.
- Use CAD experience, where applicable, to interpret or update facility layouts and support project planning.
- Ensure compliance with facilities maintenance and management best practices, including adherence to safety standards and relevant regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems and equipment, minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, inspections, and equipment maintenance activities.
Essential Skills
- Proven supervisory experience managing a team of at least five facilities technicians or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities environments.
- Strong electrical skills, including running power, installing outlets, running cables, and performing cable terminations.
- Solid understanding of electrical circuits, load basics, and high-load conditions.
- Mechanical experience with compressed air systems, plumbing installation, and mounting equipment.
- Experience coordinating and completing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work.
- Facilities maintenance and facilities management experience in a complex operational setting.
- Proficiency with ticketing systems and work order management tools such as Service Now, UpKeep, or comparable platforms.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and executive-level employees.
- Knowledge of air compressors and related facility systems.
- Experience working with cooling towers or similar cooling systems.
- Familiarity with CAD tools sufficient to read or support updates to facility layouts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in Electrical, HVAC, IFMA, Facilities, or OSHA.
- Experience operating Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, or Forklifts.
- Outlet installation experience in industrial or commercial environments.
- Experience with facility upgrading projects, including planning and execution.
- Prior exposure to high-load electrical environments and safe work practices.
- Experience with cable termination and structured cabling in a facilities context.
