Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Base Hourly:

$17.78

Class/Calendar:

A13,9.75 months

Job Summary:

To manage the senior high school audio visual department to ensure a variety of services related to the distribution, maintenance, troubleshooting of audio visual equipment, media and materials; and to train, supervise and test students in the operation of various office and audio visual equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order and schedule filmsand rental materials for classroom use; orderaudio visual supplies and new non-book materials
  • Train and supervise students in the operation of various office machines and audio visual equipment; test and grade students each nine weeks
  • Provide audio visual services (i.e. laminating, dry mounting, sign making, video taping, etc)
  • Circulate software and hardware to faculty and students
  • Maintain inventory and location of school’s computer and audio visual equipment
  • Supervise use of viewing rooms and work with students
  • Prepare documentation (letters, memos, forms, correspondence, etc) to convey information to the appropriate parties
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
  • Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools

Required Qualifications:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Experience with audio visual equipment, standard office machines and computers

  • Average proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; above average test battery
  • Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance of audio visual equipment, intercom and bells
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, schedule workload and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions
  • Knowledge of copyright and printing laws and regulations helpful
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with students, teacher sand district personnel, etc

Work Environment &

Physical Requirements:

  • Works in classrooms, auditoriums, media centers, and event spaces within the school
  • Moves between different rooms and departments to set up and troubleshoot AV equipment
  • Works with projectors, sound systems, microphones, cameras, and other AV technology
  • May use ladders or lifts to mount projectors, speakers, or lighting equipment
  • May need to work long hours for school events, often outside regular school hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
