The Recovery Technician is a crucial position that provides counseling, education and supervision of clients in both individual and group settings as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to assist clients in achieving their treatment goals. Responsibilities include directing, participating and assisting clients in planning and carrying out daily activities, evaluating clients during activities, consulting with and providing referrals to community agencies, maintaining clinical documentation, intervening in crisis situations and orienting new clients upon intake.
The position requires days, nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical professional practice and agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners.
- If driving while on agency time or on agency business, have a valid Arizona driver’s license, appropriate liability insurance, and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT – SPC’s liability insurance carrier. Out‑of‑state applicants must provide a 3‑year driving record upon hire.
- Staff members who provide direct client services must be at least 21 years old;/support services staff must be at least 18. All employees will have a minimum of a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Transport clients in agency vehicles as necessary.
- Assume additional duties as assigned, including orientation and training of new staff members and participation in client staffing to assess progress and outcomes.
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Inpatient or Residential experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid AZ driver’s license with no major infractions in the past three years.
- Fingerprint clearance card or eligibility to obtain one.
- 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
- Same competencies and conduct as outlined in Essential Responsibilities.
- If driving while on agency time or on agency business, valid Arizona driver license, liability insurance, and a 3‑year state driving record with no major infractions or excessive violations/tickets is required at time of hire.
